New Solution: ACMP Defender Management

With the new solution ACMP Defender Management, ACMP makes Microsoft Defender manageable for companies. This includes complete administration and control as well as central quarantine management.

We have summarized all the new features and functions of the new solution for you here.

Kiosk:

Due to a fixed bug in the Kiosk filters, all filters/conditions with "Active Directory User" must be recreated after the update.

New filter option: "Is Operating System". This allows a client command to be displayed or not in the kiosk based on the operating system version.

Inventory:

A new field in the Operating System section: "Display Version" now shows the current Windows version like "20H2".

New field in the Hard Drives section: "Media Type" shows if it is a HDD or SSD.

New field for CAWUM: It is now possible to display whether a client still has to be restarted because of one or more updates.

Queries can now be edited directly without having to run them first.

Client Command Center:

The output of a Powershell command is now done without the last invisible character. This makes further processing easier.

The command: Install Driver Package now provides enhanced logging.

All ACMP system variables are now directly selectable in the Package Wizard.

Containers:

The old custom icons have been replaced by the new custom images. In addition, many more custom images are included.

Console:

When logging in to the ACMP Console, it is now possible to log in users from a domain forest as well as users from domains in a trust.

In the Quick Launch,  clients can now be dragged and dropped directly into e.g. containers or HD tickets.

Various visual and performance improvements in the ACMP settings. In addition, there is now a search function for the settings.

The existing test and release rings are changed to test and release processes. Therefore, even more flexible work is possible in this area.

Job monitor:

In the case of a container job, it is now possible to navigate to the affected container directly from the Job Monitor.

Managed Software:

It is now possible to cancel multiple software packages at the same time.

CAWUM:

The dual scan of the Windows Update API is now deactivated by default when managed via CAWUM.

Updates withdrawn by Microsoft are no longer synchronized to the client.

When downloading updates "On Demand", exceptions can now be defined to be downloaded immediately when available.

OS Deployment:

The "Custom Rollout" function directly from a query can now be authorized separately.

In the rollout template it can be defined if a new client ID should be generated.

Helpdesk:

Via the rules, tickets can additionally be automatically set to the status "closed".

Mail Service:

The ACMP Mail Service now also supports Modern Auth (OAuth2) as authentication method.

Vulnerability management:

The import of new vulnerability databases has been significantly accelerated.

ACMP agent:

When the agent was scheduled to restart via the agent tasks at a certain time, it could happen that the agent performed this restart more than once. This can no longer happen.

The Powershell parts of the software scanner can now be deactivated per client via a registry entry.

Discontinuation:

At the official end of support for Avira Antivirus for Business in December 2021, we will completely remove Avira support from ACMP.

Components to be updated:

You will need to update the following additional ACMP components after updating to ACMP 6.1.0.

  • ACMP web interfaces
  • ACMP data foundation with ACMP notifier
