Every IT and cost manager is familiar with the problem of having to create an overview of all current assets - i.e. IT equipment, office furniture and other tangible assets: Generally, this sets in motion a time-consuming search process that involves checking countless folders and files and possibly also workstations on site and in storage. The new asset management module of the acmp Suite, which has been specially tailored to the needs of IT administrators and controlling, provides a remedy: It organizes and manages all of the company's fixed assets, groups the individual objects, assigns them to defined persons, cost centres and departments and is also unrivalled in its ease of use.
"With our asset management, management always has a complete overview of all available assets, can sort devices by cost center, user and location and also calculate depreciation totals, acquisition costs and warranty data," explains Wilko Frenzel, Managing Director at aagon. "In developing this tool, we have precisely implemented the requirements of IT administrators. We can clearly see this in the positive feedback."
The most important advantages at a glance
Different user groups: The new aagon solution ensures that each user only sees those assets that are required for their work. For example, the janitor and reception only have access to the stored company vehicles, while controlling management can call up the complete overview.
Lifecycle: Details on the acquisition, operation, useful life and decommissioning of fixed assets can be conveniently managed here. This feature is helpful for public authorities, among others, who can quickly call up what a certain IT budget has been invested in and how long or where the individual assets have been in use.
Integrated report engine: This function also proves to be extremely helpful in everyday working life. For example, it creates an issue slip for each new employee with all the assets (laptop, smartphone, chair, projector, etc.) that belong to the workplace. If the employee leaves, you can quickly check whether the items are complete. In addition, the report engine prints out barcode stickers for tables and other components, for example, in which all the necessary data is stored.
Logical grouping of assets: The tool enables joint management of office equipment (e.g. printer & interface or projector & bag & remote control) so that these assets are always treated and managed as a single unit when they are passed on to another department. Here, the recipient can see at a glance whether all the listed units are available. The lending process works in a similar way: the asset collection recognizes whether all recorded components, such as company car plus logbook, keys and fuel card, are passed on together.
Another important feature of acmp Asset Management is its simple and convenient operation as well as its flexible expandability. Any number of tables and fields can be defined as required - the program has no fixed format specifications.
